Attention:

The College of Integrated Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at Rock County is seeking one or more adjunct Mathematics instructors to teach courses in Fall 2026 and Spring 2027. Candidates available to teach 50% FTE or more may be considered for a salaried Lecturer title instead. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until all positions are filled.

This will be a fixed-term appointment. Reappointment for subsequent terms is dependent upon the needs of the University, funding, staffing requirements, enrollment, and external forces. For information on fixed-term contracts, please see UW System Admin Policy 1250: Job Security.

Courses that are to be taught throughout the academic year will be from the following:

1.    MAT 091 and MAT 095 – Elementary Algebra 2.    MAT 103 - Beginning and Intermediate Algebra 3.    MAT 108 – Quantitative Reasoning 4.    MAT 110 – College Algebra 5.    MAT 113 - Trigonometry 6.    MAT 210 – Topics in Finite Mathematics 7.    MAT 221 – Calculus and Analytic Geometry I   CONDITIONS OF APPOINTMENT :

University of Wisconsin-Whitewater does not offer H-1B or other work authorization visa sponsorship for this position. Compensation:

Well-qualified candidates can expect pay of $1,667 per credit, with 15 credits being 1.0 Full-Time Equivalency. If a candidate is hired for more than a 50% FTE position, it will become salaried. This will be commensurate with the candidate's education, related experience, and qualifications.

Required Qualifications: • A master's degree in mathematics

• A master's degree in a related field and 18 graduate credit hours in mathematics

• A master's degree in a related field and strong evidence of teaching mathematics

Preferred Qualifications: • Experience teaching developmental and lower-division college mathematics or co-requisite support courses.

• Experience using learning management software to deliver courses. UW-Whitewater uses Canvas.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Ability to interact respectfully with people with diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

• Willingness and ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training and drills.
