If yes, consider joining Baker Tilly (BT) as an Actuarial Director - Property & Casualty Insurance ! Our Risk Advisory practice helps clients assess risk, strengthen governance and controls, respond to regulatory expectations and make informed business decisions. This role will provide senior actuarial leadership while expanding the breadth and market presence of Baker Tilly’s actuarial advisory services.

Does this describe you? • You are an experienced property and casualty actuary who can serve as a trusted advisor to insurance executives and translate complex actuarial matters into clear business implications.
• You are energized by the opportunity to build a practice, originate new work and expand relationships across insurers, reinsurers, MGAs, captives, self-insured organizations and other insurance-related entities.
• You bring broad actuarial experience across loss reserving and reserve adequacy, pricing and rate analysis, regulatory and examination support, external audit support, large claim evaluation, litigation advisory, self-insurance and captives, transaction advisory, IFRS 17 and emerging InsurTech needs.
• You thrive in a collaborative environment where you can lead talented professionals, work across disciplines and influence the growth and direction of a dynamic advisory practice.
• You value technical quality, professional judgment, client service and continuous development for yourself and the people you lead.
What you will do: • Lead and grow the property and casualty actuarial function within the Risk Advisory practice, including service strategy, market positioning, technical delivery standards, talent development and practice economics.
• Lead client engagements involving loss reserve and reserve adequacy analyses, pricing and rate reviews, actuarial examinations and regulatory support, rate filing reviews, external audit support services, large claim evaluations and related actuarial advisory work.
• Advise client executives and management teams on actuarial, financial and insurance risks, including the business implications of reserve development, pricing, claims trends, regulatory requirements and changing market conditions.
• Develop and apply actuarial frameworks and methodologies that align with client objectives, applicable actuarial standards and regulatory expectations, including work related to self-insurance, captives and IFRS 17.
• Provide senior-level consulting on complex actuarial matters, which may include expert witness and litigation advisory services, transaction advisory, due diligence, InsurTech initiatives and healthcare or self-insurance matters.
• Produce and review high-quality actuarial analyses, executive summaries, presentations and final reports, with engagement documentation maintained in accordance with applicable actuarial standards and Baker Tilly methodology.
• Drive business development by identifying, sourcing, pursuing and winning actuarial and broader insurance advisory opportunities; develop proposals and expand relationships with existing and prospective clients.
