Program Description:
The Sophomore Career Exploration Internship gives undergraduate sophomores the opportunity to gain valuable work experience at a unique institution. Through dynamic, project-based work assignments and professional development activities, students get:

Sophomore interns work in one specific business area or function for ten weeks, and have access to opportunities for collaboration with other students and employees from around the Bank.
At the end of the program, students leave with strong skills, professional connections, and meaningful experiences that will support them in their long-term careers.
Our Unique Work:
T he Supervision Group supervises and regulates financial institutions in the Second District of the Federal Reserve System. We apply our unique insight to influence and execute Federal Reserve System supervision in order to promote a safe, sound, and stable banking and financial system. Staff in the Group assess the safety and soundness of domestic banking institutions and operations of foreign banking organizations in the district through periodic onsite evaluations and offsite financial analysis and surveillance. The Group also analyzes issues and developments to identify emerging supervisory risks and develop domestic and international supervisory policy.
Our Supervision Group Intern Program encompasses seven distinct functions —Business Services- Quality Assurance, GSIB (Globally Systemic Important Banks) Risk Exams, Large and Foreign Banking Organizations, Supervisory Analysis, Regional and Community Financial Institutions, Consumer Compliance, and Financial Market Infrastructure, each requiring different expertise . How You’ll Make an Impact as a Supervision Intern (Sophomore)
The Summer Analyst provides outstanding undergraduate students with the opportunity to gain valuable work experience with a unique institution. Through advanced work assignments and professional development activities, Summer Analysts are provided with an extensive understanding of the work of the New York Fed. Summer Analysts will be given the opportunity to enhance their business skills through critical financial analysis, formal presentations, research, and writing. Summer Analysts are assigned to a particular business area for the summer, and they will also have opportunities for collaboration with other Summer Analysts, and full-time employees.
The Unique Skill Sets We’re Looking For: As a Summer Analyst, you must have a demonstrated interest in economics, public policy, and/or finance and a strong academic record. We encourage candidates of all backgrounds (including Liberal Arts) to apply.
Core Skills - All candidates should demonstrate :
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to synthesize information and explain it
• Organized and resourceful, with the ability to work as part of a team and independently
• Ability to assimilate new information and learn new tools/systems
• Curiosity and critical thinking skills
• Research and writing skills
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite
Specialized Skills – In addition to the core skills some of our roles would benefit from some of the skills below
• Data & Technology: Data analytics, statistical software tools (Macros, VBA, SQL, Stata, Python), data visualization tools (Tableau), IT/Computer Science, Cyber
• Risk & Markets: Capital markets, risk management, audit, quality assurance
• Governance, Compliance & Policy: Compliance, legal, consumer protection

Other Things to Know:
Salary Range: Your regular wages for the 10 weeks will be paid on a semi-monthly basis and will be calculated based on an annual salary of $65,600
